RM Watson was engaged by Ascendas REIT to replace the structurally failed CFC cladding and corroding sunshades installed to the façade of the commercial tower at 197-201 Coward Street Mascot.
RM Watson were responsible for replacing the structurally failed CFC sheeting and replacing it with new, solid 3mm aluminium cladding. The works also included the replacement of 220 steel framed sunshades on the western elevation with a matching powder coated aluminium sunshade to maintain the external appearance of the building while increasing the durability of the structure.
Two twin mast climbers were installed across the Coward Street facing facade to access the various areas of cladding. The progressive installation of twin mast climbers provided access to multiple work faces simultaneously. This approach helped reduce the programme duration while also limiting the impact of RM Watson’s presence on the normal operations of the site.
