The Trio Apartments development in Camperdown consists of three interconnected residential towers (Trio North, Central, and South),featuring distinct lobby entrances and extensive facade elements.
Following the issuance of a Fire Safety Order from the City of Sydney Council, RM Watson was engaged to deliver a comprehensive cladding replacement program to satisfy the requirements of the Fire Order to ensure the safety of the building occupants.
Scope of Works:
- Complete removal and replacement of existing Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP) cladding across all three buildings.
- Installation of new 3mm solid aluminium cladding system to match original architectural intent.
- Remediation works across multiple elevations including Booth Street, Alexander Drive, and Stirling Circuit.
- Specialised treatment of various architectural features including the green wall interface and entrance foyers.
- Complex access solutions to manage material handling across a multi-level development.
Technical Challenges:
- Multiple cladding types with varying core compositions required specific removal methodologies.
- Interface management with existing building elements including louvre screens, building services, and balustrades.
- Maintenance of building operations and resident access throughout the remediation process.
