The Wondakiah Apartments at Wollstonecraft were built in three stages in the 1990’s with a total of 10 buildings containing 297 strata titled apartments. While the community plan estate combines a great location with fantastic facilities, the quality of construction of the building did not match the stand-out location.
RM Watson has had extensive involvement with the residential complex over recent years, delivering 3 separate repair programmes across 230 individual apartments. The first, a full façade repair of the delaminating render and repainting of the 130 apartments. This was followed by major façade repairs, coating and replacement of balustrades to 100 apartments in Stage 2 and finally, in 2019, we completed fire separation rectification works to the same 100 apartments and associated common areas and car park areas.
A variety of access systems were utilised to complete the facade works and extensive internal access to all areas of the building was required when undertaking the fire separation works. As a high-end residential complex, one of the major considerations of this project was how to minimise the impact of works on residents. RM Watson developed a comprehensive access database to manage resident communication and access notifications across the duration of the project. This process ensured residents were adequately informed throughout all stages of the project, while also providing surety of programme.
